Who We are

Welcome to Ohana Hui Cafe! We started this little dream with a simple idea: bring people together over a really good cup of matcha.

We’re two brothers-in-law — one of us grew up on Oʻahu, the other came from California — and Ohana Hui Cafe was born from blending our different backgrounds, perspectives, and shared love for matcha. Food and drinks have always been a way for us to connect with people, so creating a space around that just made sense.

The name Ohana Hui says everything we care about. Ohana means family, hui means gathering. We wanted to build something that feels welcoming, comfortable, and rooted in community — a place where everyone feels like they belong.

Our journey began as a home cafe, grew into a mobile matcha van, and has now found a more permanent home at our trailer on 747 Queen Street. Today, we focus on serving premium ceremonial-grade matcha, paired with house-made syrups and creamy toppings made from real, fresh ingredients.

Whether you’ve loved matcha forever or you’re trying it for the first time, we’re grateful you’re here and can’t wait to share a cup with you.

Mahalo for being part of our journey!
